Franck Pontais Food Creator
Franck stepped into the butchery world at 14 years old, graduating at 16, he went then to work and train alongside France’s top Master chef in food production and banqueting.Head hunted to England, he arrived in London in 1993 to join the “Traiteur” team at Harrods. Quickly gaining promotion he went on to Selfridges overlooking the 14 eateries outlets and opening a “Traiteur” counter within the Food hall in both London and Manchester.
Back at Harrods as a head chef in charge of the production and innovation within the food hall and banqueting side, he stayed two years and went to explore outside catering working on high profile events for stars and celebrities.
Franck opened his own business called Food Creation, specialising in high quality, bespoke catering and events. He is a published author, and wrote the first culinary book written in English about the topic “Terrine and Verrine” which has sold in excess of 25,000 copies to date.
He has been inducted into the “Disciples d’Ecoffier International” and works as a food consultant on various projects for government agencies and top brands within the catering industry.
Franck is a regular on BBC radio and won the Iron Chef UK 2010 on Channel 4, along appearing on the Renault Channel and Ready Steady Cook.
